VALUES AT WESTFIELD SMALLER ENTRY SEEN. PRICES GENERALLY HIGHER. As a result of generally smaller entries prices were higher at the Weetfield live stock markets yesterday. Beef made up to 39/ a 1001b, while wethere and ewes sold up to 44/ and 36/ respectively. In eadh case this is an improvement on last week. Though the pig yarding has been higher or Jatie throughout the province, it was small at Westfield yesterday, and the market appreciated for porkers. Baconers remained firm at late rates. Even for poorer sorts the demand in the calf section was firm. Runners changed hands up to £10 12/6, while vealers made up to £8, for a very choice animal. Hoggete.—An average entry sold under good competition at increased rates. Extra heavy prime hoggete, 35/ to 38/; heavy, 30/ to 33/; medium, 27/ to 29/; lighter, 24/6 to 26/; light, 21/ to 23/6; small and plain, 17/6 to 20/. Calves.—There wae a very email yarding, the supply being insufficient for 'butchers' requirements.
