There's a Cheerio for you: straight from the boys in the office to their workmate who is now wearing the khaki of hie country in Egypt, in England, or eomewhere else on the battlefront of Europe. How well that would be received . . . and what memories it would invoke of cheerful work hours, pleasant companionship, and that institution, the '•Friday afternoon get-together"!

Most of the Cheerios in last Saturday's Sports Edition were from t'he home* of the boys overseas, from Mum and Dad, brothers and eistere, wives and girl-friends. They would be more than welcome, but there would be a big welcome aleo for meseages from the workmates of those in the fighting services. Particularly when, the.se messages came together with the Sports Edition news service of battles lost and won on the I football field, the hockey Held, at the tennis club, the golf club,'on the athletic field, in the ring and at the race tracks. To be published in the Sports Edition this Saturday your Cheerio must reach this office by nine o'clock this evening. None can be accepted after that timeso do it promptly! The Cheerio news service is inexpensive. For the actual message, fifteen words, exclusive of name and rank, there is a fee of 2/6. If longer messages are sent the fee ie 9d for each set of five additional words. With your message enclose the full military or naval address of the serving man addressed, so that the '"Star" may send a post-paid copy to him. Special for Cheerio* are available at the •'Star" office. Re.member—this week's list closes at 9 o'clock to-night!
