GLEN EDEN TOWN BOARD.

A meeting of the Glen Eden Town Board was presided over by Mr. G. H. Ambler. Recreation Ground. —A deputation waited on the board requesting that the recreation ground be made available for a benefit sports meetlne on Saturday next. The information was noted for action when approval Is received for proposed SC itate Housing.— The Hon. the Minister of Housing advised that he would be pleased to look-Into the matter of erecting State rental houses in Glen Eden personally when next in Auckland when he would also take the opportunity of discussing the matter with the board.-; Works Department.—lt was decided to plant a grass strip on the footpaths on both sides of Valley Road between West Coast . Road and the Town Hall, also to undertake the work of lowering the footoath on the south side of Clay burn Road between the Anglican- Church and Brandon Road. Heavy Traffic License Fees.—lt was decided to press for the Issue of a fresh Ministerial order of appointment for the current year. ■ Town Hall Lease-—The board received an application of the present lessee for a renewal of the lease for a further 12 months. Consideration was deferred until the next meeting of the board.
