LEGS CRUSHED.

BETWEEN TWO TRAMS. CONDUCTOR SERIOUSLY HURT. When he was crushed between two tramears at the Gaunt Street depot, city, shortly after 6 o'clock this morning a tram conductor suffered extensive injuries to both legs. The injured man wad Mr. Maxwell Arthur Bonnett, aged 25, married, of 21, Rimu Street, New Lynn. He was admitted to the Auckland Hospital where it was found necessary to amputate one leg. His condition is serious. Mr. Bonnett was replacing the trains trolley pole which had come off the power line, when the accident occurred. A second tram approaching from the rear failed to stop and Mr. Bonnett was caught between the two bumpers. A St. John ambulance was. summoned immediately and- the injured man waa taken to the Auckland Hospital.
