LABOURER'S DEATH.

BODY ON MOUNTAIN. VERDICT OF SUICIDE. The coroner, Mr. F. K. Hunt, to-day concluded the inquest into the death of Attjan Arthur distance, labourer, aged whose body was found on the top of Mount Hobson on the night of August 19. Evidence given when the inquest was opened showed that the deceased, who lived at 83, Park Eoad, Grafton, had been depressed because of the death of his fiancee, and had left a letter at his flat intimating 'his intention of taking hi& life. Constable F. K. H. Skerritt said that lie found the body on Mount Hobson. Lying on the body was a .22 single-shot rifle, and deceased's right thumb was round the trigger. There was a bullet wound in the temple. The coroner returned a verdict of suicide by shooting.
