SOLDIERS OVERSEAS.

Regarding the letter of «Wife of Ex-Soldier," may I, as a mother of three sons overseas, say that I can't believe one boy in the First Echelon would begrudge any little treat given their comrades in the Second Echelon. Would it not be better to try and cheer mothers or wives of those same boys instead of making them feel as if their boys were getting put on? When our sons leave to go overseas it is to help protect their loved ones, and not for the sake of promotion. As mv. sons were first volunteers, their only "grouse was that they were not permitted to go with their pals in the First Echelon. So let us, including "Wife of Ex-Soldier," just write a few cheery letters to the boys and leave the promotion to more capable hands. MOTHER OF THREE SOLDIERS.
