PENSIONERS.

In answer to "Autumn."' Good luck lo the pensioner who can give 5/ a quarter to the war fund. Take the widow with a child 16 years old, she receives £1 a week. Out of this rent, food, clothing, dentist bilk and help for the child to start a career has to be paid for. A young widow may be able to get some kind of work, but'the older woman is not wanted for the simple reason she has to receive full wage*. and she cannot work at the same rate as the younger woman. In conclusion, I would ask "Autumn" to reconsider hk or ber suggestion and to bear in mind the fact that in the case of widows it k practically impossible to live on tie pension alone without paying a further 5/ a quarter. * WIDOW.
