PERSONAL.
Mr. Harvey Turner has returned to Auckland after a trip to the Cook Islands. The Hons. Lafk and E. Dye, M.L.C.'s, will be passengers for Wellington by the Limited express to-night* Messre. P. K. Paikea, A. S. Richards, P. Carr, W. T. Anderton, and C. W Boswell, M.P.'s, will leave for Wellington by the Limited express to-night. The Rt. Rev. C. A. Cherrington, Bishop of Waikato, who has 'been visiting Taranaki, returned to Hamilton to-day.* Mr. J. W. Bailey, who has been adjudicating at the annual competitions festival at Dunedin, has returned to Auckland. Mr. A. Turner, superviser of imported fruit for the Internal Marketing Department, will return to Wellington by the Limited express to-night. The Rev. D. S. Miller, rector of Moora, West Australia, and formerly assistantchaplain at King's College, Auckland, has been appointed vicar of Queenstown. Mr. John Higgins, engineer to the Grey County Council, has created what is believed to be a record term of service in local body administration in completing 60 years with the council. Messrs. R. E. Price and J. Roberts, Waterfront Commissioners, who are visiting Auckland in connection with the stopwork meeting of the Auckland waterside workers, will return to Wellington tomorrow. Lieutenant-Commissioner J. Ev*an Smith, territorial commander of the Salvation Army in New Zealand, and LieutenantColonel W. A. Ebbs, chief secretary, accompanied by Mrs. Smith and Mrs. Ebbs, wiU travel south by the Limited express to-night.
