A BIG MEETING.
CARPENTERS' PROSPECTS. TOWN HALL RESERVED. In these days of war the spectacle of large bodies of men marching through the city streets is not uncommon. To-night, however, a march of a different character—one free of cheering crowds, bands and khaki-clad figures—is in prospect. Should the march take place those participating will be members of the Auckland Carpenters' Union merely transferring to a larger meeting place. The union booked the Trades Hall for its annual meeting to-night, but such is the widespread interest that has been aroused through two factions opposing each other in a battle for executive positions that it is now believed that the original meeting place will be too small to accommodate all the members who will attend to join issue with one side or the other. It is thought that there is a likelihood of 1000 men attending the meeting, and the secretary of the union, Mr. J. G. Kennerley, has taken the precaution of reserving the Town Hall in case it might be needed for conducting the deliberations of the organisation. J
