SHATTERED ROMANCES.

LONDON'S 2600 DIVORCE SUITS. ("Times" Cables.) LONDON, September 29. The number of divorcee is 'rapidly increasing in England. At present 700 caees await London judges alone. The opening of the Courts will take place next month and by December 2600 marriages are likely to have been dissolved in London this year. That total will probably reach nearly 5000 when the rest of the country is taken into consideration. There are four times as many shattered romances as in 1914. One half of the dissolved marriages were childless. One of the primary causes of divorce is the law which prevents the publication of details in the newspapers. "Secret Divorce" is how the Act is often described. In view of the alarming growth of divorces questions affecting the amendment of the Act are expected to be asked in the House of Commons.
