UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE.
Mr. Albert Spencer stales that if the bill was passed it would be dangerous for New Zealand, that it would make paupers of thousands and it was a good scheme in the Old Country when it was a. war time measure, but it would have to be dropped. I say that Mr. A. Spencer is the hindrance to industry, as lie will not progress. It was not a war time measure » the Old Country, for it came into force w 11)12. It does not make paupers. It relieve? them, and, as for not wanting to work, can the community live on 15/ or 20/ per week. No, but a half loaf is better than none. AS for crippling industry, "industry" would nn* a way as per usual'to pass the costs on to the general public. H. S. WRIGHi.
