DEPARTING PLAYERS.

CLUB PRESENTATION. On Saturday evening the members of the Tramways F.C., at a social evening at the residence of the captain of the team, Mr. E. Simpson, Mount Albert, bade au revoir to two naval Soccerites who have been closely associated with the Trams Club, Messrs. V. G. Reid and Gilchrist, of the cruiser Diomede. Mr. Reid played for the club for most of last season, and on several occasions this season, and by his quiet and unassuming personality off the field and his genuine sportsmanship has earned the unstinted esteem and regard of the club as well as all followers of the code in Auckland. To mark the club's appreciation of his services Mr. S. Drew presented Mr. Reid with a pocket wallet, and Mr. Gilchrist, who has also assisted the club, with a silver Ever-sharp pencil While expressing deep regret that the club and the game would lose their services, he assured both of the very best wishes of all their friends in Auckland for the future. Mr. Drew's remarks were endorsed bv Messrs. Coleman for the Wellington F.A., and F. H. Baker, of the A.F.A., and the recipients suitably replied, both expressing regret at leaving so many friends. A very enjoyable evening was brought to a close with cheers for Mr. and Mrs. Simpson and the singing of Auld Lang Syne.
