The winner is by Paper Money. HAWKESBURY SPRING HANDICAP. One mile and three furlongs. SUNFLARE, 6.7—Hcterick 1 KAVALLI, 7.9 —Cook 2 FRANCES SYLLENE, 6.11 3 Eleven started. Won by four lengths, a head between second and third. Time, 2.20. FLYING HANDICAP. Six furlongs. BEAU DENNIS, 7.4—Simpson 1 BOSSPOPPY, 7.10 2 NEWSORE, 8.4 3 Seventeen started, including Royal Duke, Arikinui, Raceland and Sun KisSed. Won by half a length, a similar distance between second and third. Time, l.lSijd. AT MOONEE VALLEY. SECOND WIND'S UNPOPULAR WIN. MELBOURNE, September 29. At the Mooneo Valley meeting yesterday the following was the result of the leading event:— QUALITY HANDICAP. Seven furlongs. HIGHLAND. B.o—Duncan 1 DAVID GARRICK, 8.3 2 AGA KHAN, 7.13 3 Thirteen started. Won by half a length. Time, 1.27 J. The Tullamarine Handicap wus won by the New Zealand-bred gelding Second Wind. The victory of Second Wind brought about a vogorous display of hooting, owing to inconsistent form on the part of the horse.

As the residt of his success in the Flying Handicap at Hastings on Saturday last, Great Charter, who has been accepted for in the Flying Handicap at EUerslie net Saturday, lias had his weight raised by the handic-apper, Mr. F. McManemin, 31b, making his impost 5.9. BEATEN IN RJN-OFF. LORIENT 11. IN ROSEBERY CUP. According to advices received in Auckland on Saturday, Lorient 11. won the first division of the Rosebery Cup, but in the run-off Magsman beat Lorient 11. PINK COAT ON TRACK. The southern three-year-old Pink Coat, who has been brought front Canterbury to fulfil his engagement in the Great Northern Guineas, was given pace work over a round of the No. •' grass track at Ellerslie this morning. He is a fine, upstanding colt, nearly 17 hands in height, and despite his size shows a lot of quality. Ho is a nice irce mover, and, judging by his appearance, ho promises to strip a very fit horse next Saturday. Pink Coat, who will bo ridden by A. E. Ellis, has only once been beaten during his career, and '■his presence wiU infuse considerable interest into the classic event, in which he will meet Eaglet,*who is unbeaten as a th"ee-vear-old.
