CITY OFFICE RANSACKED.
DARING SHOP ROBBERY. TILL AND CONTENTS STOLEN. By forcing the front door, a thief gained entrance to the office of the Parker Engineering Company, Madden Street, Freeman's Bay, early on Saturday evening. Shortly after 9 p.m. a constable found that tho front door had been tampered with. He searched the premises, but the thief had by that time got away. Although the office was thoroughly ransacked, the intruder did not secure any money. No attempt was made upon the safe. A daring robbery was carried out in Symonds Street on Saturday night shortly after 8 o'clock, when a thief entered the confectionery shop of Miss Judge, near Grafton Bridge, and stole the till, which contained £4 in cash. The.robbery was evidently deliberately planned by the thief, who waited until Miss Judge went into the rear of the premises before he entered. During her temporary absence the till was taken out. of the frame underneath the counter. Detectives were soon on the scene, and. carried out a search in the vicinity for the till, but it has not been found. Only three days previously the window blinds left in front of' tho shop were stolen.
