The most interesting match of the morning in the women's golf championship was between Mrs. Fraser and Miss C4aisford. Miss G'aisford played some fine golf at the start, and took a big lead, but Mrs. Fraser, whose putting had been letting her down, , improved her game all round, and played some . solid golf to win on the seventeenth green. Miss 0. Stevens caused a surprise by inflicting a severe defeat on Miss Payton. Miss Payton was certainly a little off form, but Miss Stevens played sound golf for her win. Miss Barnett and Mrs. Mills were not at their best, Miss Barnett winning after a, close match. Mrs. Dodgshun was as steady as a rock against Miss McCormiclc, who failed to find her best form and lost six down and five. Miss Kay again had an easy win, though Miss Rathbone took the game to the' fifteenth green. Mrs. Collinson won against Miss Pharazyn on the nineteenth green, after Miss Pharazyn had been dormv two.
