LITTLE BOY WOUNDED.

SHOT BY COMPANION. While two boys were shooting rabbits on a farm at Paerata yesterday afternoon, one of them, Robert Lewis, aged eight, was accidentally shot in the head. The boys were going across the farm belonging to the parents of the boy who was hurt, and when a little distance from the house the elder lad, -carrying the gun, fired at a hawk. The younger boy, who was in front, suddenly bobbed up as his companion fired, and was struck by the shot in the head. He was taken back to the house, and a doctor from Pukekohe was called. After treatment he was taken in to the hospital by his mother in her motor car. An operation was performed, and the condition of the boy to-day is not considered serious.
