Costes and Belleconte left Le Bourget in an attempt to break the record for a non-stop flight. Their machine has a 600 horse-power engine and a capacity of 1200 gallons of petrol. They hope to be aloft for 50 hours, and in that time to cover 5500 miles in the direction of Japan.
