CHAMPIONSHIP GOLF.

DOMINION TITLE CONTESTS. OPENED IN DRIVING RAIN. EARLY SCORES IN "OPEN." (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WANGANUI, this day. After a spell of line weather, and with the course in first-class order, it was most unfortunate that the weather broke for the opening day's play of the New Zealand golf championships at the Belmont links to-day. When the early players were dispatched ther was a cold southerly wind, with driving rain, which looked like continuing all day.
