SERVICE CAB CAPSIZED.
COLLISION NEAR THAMES. I (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) THAMES, this day. A service car, driven by Mr. R. Hague Smith, bound for Coromandel yesterday afternoon collided with a car driven by Mr. Charles Adams, of Remuera, on a narrow bend of the coast road near Thornton's Bay. The service car toppled over a 15ft bank and was badly damaged, while the other car had an axle broken. The driver of the service car sustained head injuries and was removed to the Thames Hospital. He had three passengers, Miss Jamieson, of Kereta, who escaped without injury, but Mr. John Freeman, relief worker, of Kereta, and Mr. Thomas Fraser, of Driving Creek. Coromandel, sustained minor cuts. Mr. Adams and Sir. J. Farrell, of Devonport, occupants of the motor car, were not injured.
