MINER'S RISE.
Director Of Lancashire. Cotton Corporation. MR. HODGES' APPOINTMENT. (Australian and N.Z. Press Association.) LONDON, September 25. On the nomination of the Governor of the Bank of England, Mr. Frank Hodges, a former miner and ex-general secretary of the Miners' Federation, has been elected one of the directors of the Lancashire Cotton Corporation, which controls 48 spinning and weaving companies.. Mr. Frank Hodges went to the coalfields with his parents at the age of six years, and he worked there until he was 21. He became a miner's agent, but later turned to politics, being elected Labour member for the Lichfield division of Staffordshire. He was a member of the Coalmines Commission of 1919.
