ADDINGTON JOTTINGS.
j' ERIN'S LYNN ON IMPROVE. is JUNE NORDICA BACK IX WORK ] "V AGAIN, i _____ J| '(By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.") j CHKISTCHURCH, this day. -John Mauritius is going on the right •way in his training work, and is regaining sound. He has a lot of speed, hut in the past he was not reliable in his races. It will be some time before he is at his best. Bey Child is back in B. J. Marshall's charge. When he was last raced by the Addington trainer he showed some form, bub subsequently trained off and went into another stable. He is now a gelding, and he may do better when ready to race. . Bey Child has a good turn of speed, but he was tricky in his past races, and required careful handling. Erin's Lynn is on the improve under C. Tasker's care. She is carrying a lot more condition than formerly, and she should race : better when next started. Erin's Lynn is a good stayer. E. C. McDermott's mare by Author Dillon—Capriccio is now beginning to go along fast, and is decidedly on the improve. It was thought at one time that she would have to be destroyed, owing to a bad accident met with in the paddock, but she made a complete recovery, and she, does not seem likely to be affected by her early mishap. June Nordica has been put into work again by N. L. Price. She is now a six-year-old,-and she has furnished into a fine mare. She has done very little racing, as she started only once as a three-year-old, and once as a four-year-old.
The mare by Wrack—who joined G. McKendry's stable a few months ago— was first tried at the trotting gait, but her trainer is now working her as a pacer, and she is making satisfactory progress. W. J. Morland has just recommissioried a five-year-old sister to Escapade, by Nelson Bingen from Country Belle. When put into work as a three-year-old this mare was worked at the pacing gait, and quickly came to her speed, but she could not stay well. Her owner-trainer persevered with her for some time, but she did not show much improvement in stamina. She was then turned out for a lengthy, spell, and has only recently been brought in again. She is now to be tried at the. trotting gait, and judging by her early efforts'she is likely to make good as a ; trotter..
Escapade was first worked as a pacer, and because she did not stay well enough to satisfy Tier owner she was trained as a trotter, when she became a high-grade performer. It seems as though her younger sister will follow in Escapade's footsteps, and he found racing as a trotter. ' .
