CHECKER SOCIAL.
The Checker Social Club held its second annual plain and fancy dress danco in the Operatic Society's rooni6 last evening. The hall was gaily decorated. The Snappy Six provided excellent dance items. Mr. and Mrs. Percy Free were the host and hostess, the latter wearing a lilac frilled taffeta. The president of the club, Mr. H. F. Storey, and Mrs. Storey (who wore a smart black georgette over pink satin, and silver shoulder spray) assisted in receiving the guests. Prizes were awarded as follow: Best-dressed lady, Mrs. Day (Spanish ady); jazz baby, Miss Violet Copeland; best-dressed gentleman, Miss King Charlioa Aunt, Mr. J. R ilcy . count «' dude, A. Manson, most original, Mrs. JlassaH Among the guests were: Miss E. Mumby, powder and patches; Miss M Bray, Apache; Miss M. Kin ff Amv Bock; Miss Fay Adamson, v Columbine; Mrs. K.
