REPORTS ON RESEARCH WORK. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) PALMERSTON this day. The Massey College Council met to-day, Messrs. Hall (Christchurch) and Perry (Masterton), new members, replacing Mr. Rodger, of Tapanui, who has retired, and Sir -T. G. Wilson, who is dead, were welcomed. Mr. Scrivener, soil chemist, reported that the top-dressing experiments on grass land being carried out this season were largely an extension of those of last year. An area of 100 acres was" being used for definite experiments. - Mr. Kissling, poultry instructor, reported 'that , the public was taking interest in this section, and several gifts had been made. Professor Peren reported that at a meeting of tlio Flax Research Committee held in Wellington a report- by Dr. Yeates on the general progress of selections and breeding was read. Particular attention was being given to nbro testing and yellow leaf. The work w ' la being carried out bv Mr. Meadows, of the college staff.
