i I COW KILLED XKTSTANTLY. EXGIXE LEAVES THE RAILS. Fruitvalc Road, between New' Lynn and Croyden Road, on the North, line, was the scene of a railway accident last, evening. The 8.13' p.m. Aiickland-Hendersoh.. , train was in the vicinity when, without being.seen by either the driver or fireman, a cow 'strolled, on to the track. The impact was severe, and the sudden application of the brakes startled the passengers. •;, ■ The cow was killed outright, and the two leading wheels -of-the leading bogie oil the engine left the rails. The train was delayed for 32 minutes whilst the carcase was removed and the engine wheels were replaced on the line. No damage was done to the track.
