Heavy Blow Dealt Chinese Nationalists. MANY PEISONEES TAKEN. (Australian ana N.Z. Press Association.) '' ■'• '(Received 10.30 a.m.) SHANGHAI, September 24. A serious blow has been dealt to the Nationalist forces operating against the reb.el, -General Chang Fah-kwei, in the vicinity of Ichang, on the Upper Yangtse; resulting in the capture of two river transports and 5000 National troops. : Threb : «tea ; mers loaded with troops were ß -dispatched up the river. They encountered fceavy shell fire from the rebels, resulting in 50 Nationalists being killed and several hundred being wounded: One vessel escaped.
