TAURANGA.
At ,the anniial meeting of the Bay of Plenty sub-provincial executive of the Farmers' Union Mr. H. J. Gill was unanimously re-elected president and Messrs. G. S.-Moody and W. Brads Haw (Opotiki) were elected vice-presidents. .. The meeting viewed -with alarm the spread of noxious weeds throughout the Dominion and particularly the spread of weeds in unoccupied Crown and native lands and a resolution was adopted unanimously urging the Government to use every effort to control the menace. It was decided that representations be made to the Minister of Public Works asking that work on the road through tae Waimana Gorge !be put in hand..
