COURSING
REVIVAL OF SPORT. MANGERE MEETING ON.SATURDAY After a lapse of 15 years the sport of coursing is to be again introduced into Auckland. A club which is affiliated to the New Zealand Coursing Association has been formed in Auckland and a course prepared in the ccntre of the Otahuliu Trotting Club's property at Aiangcre Crossing, where 30 hares have been trained. On Saturday afternoon the fiVst meeting will be held, when an open cup event and a maiden event will be decided. In addition to the local dogs, entries have been, received from Te Aroha, Hamilton and Wailii, making about 30 in all. A train for Mangere leaves Auckland at 1.9 p.m., the course being alongside the station. The following are the officials of the club:—Patron, Mr. T. Richards; president, Mr. 1«\ MeConnell; hon. secretary, Mr. W. A. Arnold; hon. treasurer, Mr. A. Smith; judge, Mr. F. McConncll; dog steward, Mr. J. McGrath; hare steward, Mr. A. Durno; stewards, Messrs. Woodham and W. Durno.
