PLACED ON PROBATION.

George Nicholl, a clerk, aged 35, who last week admitted a charge of stealing £3 belonging to his employers, appeared before Mr. F. K. Hunt, * S.M., at the •Police Court this morning for sentence. The Probation Officer's Report beinj a favourable one, the magistrate placed Xicholl on probation for a period of 12 months, and ordered him to make restitution.
