A VALUABLE METAL. The present price of scheelite (£l4O pei ton) is still keeping firm, with a tendencj to rise, states the "Wakatipu Mail." The prospects of a revival of the industry al the head of the lake are quite bright Already several new prospecting licenses have been granted in the Court covering areas on Mounts Judali, Larkins, and Mcintosh, and there is a healthy stir at Glenorchy, the centre of the industry. I The Scheelite Company has been getting out stone for some time past and is able to dispose of all the ore at the price mentioned. The company has been putting on more men and proposes to put all plant and buildings in order for the forthcoming season. CHICAGO WHEAT VALUES. (Received 9 a.m.) CHICAGO, September 24. Wheat for delivery in September is quoted at Chicago at $1.27% per bushel. For December delivery the rate is $1.33%, for March $1.39%, and for May $1.43%. LONDON WOOL SALES. (Australian mul N.Z. Press Association.) (Received 10 a.m.) LONDON, September 24. At the wool sales 10,941 . bales were offered, whereof 1167 were New Zealand. Thoro was a large offering of greasy Merino with n slightly improved tone. Pricca wore unchanged.
