SWALLOWED RADIUM.
CANCER FATIENT'S DEATH,
LONDON, September 16,
Joseph Summerfield, a 70-year-old patient in Birmingham Hospital, died during an operation to recover a tube of radium which he had swallowed. He was being treated with radium for cancer of the tonsue.
