AUCKLAND CLUB

A SUCCESSFUL TRY-OUT,

A successful outing, organised by the above club, was held during the week-end, when members and owners or. dogs gatnereu at Swanson Park to give their charges a number of practice runs. An ideal racetrack was constructed to take six dogs in a heat, and racing was o£ a high order. Spectators were much impressed by the dogs' performances. The hurdle race was productive of much excitement, and provided a keen finish, the winner securing the honour by the narrow verdict of a nose. Members of the club are confidently looking forward to a successful season when the official meetings commence. Details of Saturday's contests are as follow: — ~ ,t, Puppy Race.—S.
