HIDE AND SKIN SALE.
AN EASIER MARKET,
At the auction of hides and skins this afternoon in the Chamber of Commerce the tendency of the market was towards easier prices. Quotations were as follow:— Sheepskins.—Dry, fine crossbred, lOd to lid per lb; half to three-quarter wool, 9%d to lOd per lb; short to half wool, B%d to 9d; lambs, B%d to 9d per lb; pelts, 2/9 to 3/ each; salted, best, 9/3 to 10/ eachgood, 7/8 to 8/10; medium, 6/6 to 7/6 and poor, 3/ each. ' Hides—Heavy ox, 7%d per lb; medium and light, 7d per lb; heavy cow, 7 1 /4 d per lb; yearlings, 8d per lb; best calf, H%d to 13% d per lb, and good calf, 9d to lOd per lb.
Tallow. —Best mixed, 28/6 per cwt; medium, 25/ to 26/6, and poor, 20/ to 23/6 per cwt.
