SWIFT AUSTRALIAN, LTD.
Apropos of the recent request to the New Zealand Government for a meat export license for Swift and Co., a Sydney report says that Swift Australian Co., Ltd.—an affiliate of "the big Chicago meat packing house of Swift's^—which has been established in Sydney, made its initial appearance as a buyer of stock at Flemington (Melbourne) saleyards last week. Arrangemcr.-s have been made for the slaughtering and treatment of stock in _ Sydney. The intention, for the time being, is to prepare meat for local consumption, but the future may witness considerable expansion of activities.
