ROYAL RULER SMARTEST YOUNGSTER.
The Avondale Jockey Club's spring meeting is concluding in beautiful weather, before another large attendance, on a fast track. The public got earlier I>n the mark to-day, the opening favourite, Zircon, scoring in the Hurdles. Royal Ruler was the smartest two-year-old, beating Orapai and Lady Court in the Nursery Handicap. In a big field in the Mount Albert Handicap Prince Val got the verdict from Refresher and Bombarder. Piuthair showed a pleasing return to form by taking the Plumpton Handicap from Star Stranger and Transformer.
