UNDERGROUND SCRAP.
Perpetrator Of Radio Hoax Attacked. REVENGE ON COMMUNIST. (Australian Press Assn.—United Service.) (Received 11 a.m.) BERLIX, Octobcr 8. Karl Schulz, who was responsible for Saturday's broadcast hoax, was assaulted to-day in an underground train by a journalist colleague of Heir Schwarz, who struck Schulz in the face. A wrestling match ensued in the crowded carriage but the police were unable to take action against Schulz, who enjoys a Parliamentary Deputy's immunity.
A message yesterday Irom Berlin stated that about 1,000,000 German wireless listeners Avere hoaxed on Saturday evening when it was announced that a Socialist, Herr Wolfgang Schwarz, would lecture on the problem of ensuring peace. However, listeners were amazed to hear a flaming eulogy of Communism and Soviet Russia, with a violent denunciation of Socialism. It was revealed later that a Communist had impersonated Herr Schwarz, who was kidnapped by' three other Communists, and conveyed at the point of the revolver to a lonely village several miles from Berlin, and left stranded there.
