STATES PRISON FIRE.
270 Convicts In Room When Outbreak Started. SEVENTEEN INCINERATED. (Australian Press Assn. —United Service.) (Received 9.30 a.m.) NEW YORK, October 8. An outbreak of fire occurred in a dormitory at the State prison, Junction City, Ohio, on Saturday night. There were 270 prisoners asleep in the room at the time. It is reported that six of the men were burned to death. A later message stated that the deaths now total seventeen.
