The championship tourney of the Hamilton Ladies' Golf Club was opened at St. Andrew's links to-day in weather characterised by a strong north-westerly. Among the 130 competitors in the Ellis Cup pompetition was Miss Chrystall, the lady champion, who did tjie best round of the day, returning a card of 81. Russell and Given were 2 down. The junior match was won by Mrs. Chamherlain, 1 down. Misses Primrose t and EI. Oliver were 2 down. In the putting" competition Mrs. W. J. King and Miss Brewster tied for first place and Miss Scott was second.
