BACON AND PORK.
RESULT OF "CO-OIVS" POOLS. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, this day. The New Zealand co-operative pig marketing monthly report states as follows: "The past month shows a marked improvement in the number of pigs coming forward, regular killings being made at Southdown, Moerewa and Horotiu works Both the latter are closed at the moment. "The Home market for porkers is quiet owing to the mildness of the early Englisff winter. However, it is expected to firm almost immediately. The first supply of porkers for the coming season should reach London in a few days. "The exact position of the baconer market is difficult to ascertain, as there are practically no New Zealand pigs offering. The Australian market at the moment is firm, though the shining strike is making it somewhat difficult to get supplies over. "During the month the fourth baconer pool was finalised, the total payout, including advance, being 4%d. The third, fourth, fifth and sixth chopper pools. were als° finalised with a total payout of 2%d Per lb. The second, third, fourth and fifth porker pools have still to be cleared up. The association is advancing 4d per lb tor porkerß and 3d for baconers now being received. Porkers' weights are 60-100, and bacotusrs 100-200. No deduction is made tor tne risk of condemned pigs."
