LETTERS STOLEN.
POSTMASTER CATCHES BOY. FULL CONFESSION REPORTED. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) TE AROHA, this day. The disappearance of letters from private boxes at Te Aroha Post Office in the last month has caused officials much grave concern. One day last week the postmaster noticed a boy acting in a suspicious manner near the boxes, and eventually he interviewed him in a local billiard saloon. The boy admitted his guilt, and handed over some letters. The police, who were also investigating the matter, were 'lien called, and the bov made a full confession. It is stated that a number of opened letters were found under a public hall in the district where the accused boy lives. He held a responsible position, and was usually well conducted. One letter contained a cheque for £1">. which was cashed in Morrinsville.
