SWIMMING.

MOUNT EDEN CLUB.

A fairly successful season is recorded iu the tenth annual report of the Mount Kden Amateur Swimming Club, to be presented at the annual meeting of members this evening. The club finances, the report states, are in a good condition, while the membership shows an increase, the grand total on the roll being J9O, as against 155 last season. Owing to inclement weather only two carnivals were held last season. Representatives of the club competed successfully at carnivals arranged by other clubs, their sportsmanship feature. The most successful of the club members was again R. de Loree,'the club captain, who won the Weston Cup (220 yds), the Cucksev Cup (440 yds), and the Brewer Cup (SSOvds). Swimming certificates were issued diirin" the year to 106 pupils at the Kowhai Junior High School and to 72 at tha Mount Eden School.

The report records with regret tha death of Mr. T. O. Tyzack, who was ono of the most enthusiastic supporters of the club.

It is interesting to note that the threa executive officers, namely, Messrs. C. R. Surman (chairman), H. Corder (hon. secretary) and H. Moore (hon. treasurer), have held office since the inception of tha club in 1918.
