PIERROT ENTERTAINMENT.

The Papakura Huia Girls' dub gave a pierrot entertainment in the Paragon Theatre. Several good choruses were given, and two very excellent and amusing sketches were provided. Mr. Philip Hardman was the conductor of the stage and make-ups, and Mrs. G. W. O'Cofenell was the accompanist. .Mr. Philip Hardman's orchestra provided the music. The local girls are to be highly congratulated on the success of the function, as their acting and performances were wonderful considering that half of them had never faced an audience before, and the public were very quick to recognise what a splendid training they had had under the very able direction of Mr. Hardman and Mrs. O'Connell. The following items and artists constituted the very fine programme:— Opening chorus, "How do you do," with topical verses, by all the Huia girls; chorus, "Take Your Finger Out of Your Mouth," by the Huia girls; duet, "That's a Good Girl," by Misses R. Arbuckle and P. Mullins, with chorus; song, "Me, Too," Miss M. Francis and chorus; song and dance, "Barcelona," Miss M. Clarke and chorus; song, "My Blue Heaven," by Huia girls; song, "Dew, Dew, Dewy Day," Miss P. ' Mullins and chorus. Sketch, "The Burglar." Characters: Mrs. James Burton, Miss Ivy Turner; Mrs. Valerie Ormsby, Miss Ida Searle; Mrs. Charles Dover, Miss Mavis O'Neill; Miss Freda Dixon, Miss Clare Wood; Miss Edith Brent, Miss Kathleeen Muir. Sketch, "The Young Idea." Characters: Mrs. Lorimer (a widow), Miss Alma Dryland; Nancy Lorimer (her daughter), Miss Stella Andre. These two sketches were under the direction of Mrs. G. W. O'Connell. After the programme a dance was held.
