The contention of a counsel in the Magistrate's Court that small shopkeepers observing Friday as a half-holi-day are not bound to observe the regulation closing hours, was not upheld by . r * ■ B e ' S.M. Counsel thereupon pleaded guilty on behalf of various defendants. Page conß idered separately each of 38 cases, mostly Chinese, and imposed fines varying from 10/ to £7.
