WOMAN ASSAULTS KAKGEB. BOUND OVER IX COURT. "This might seem to be only the act of an hysterical woman, but there is more behind it all." So said Mr. Terry, appearing for Harry Gordon Parker, ranger for the Mount Albert Borough Council, who asked Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., at the Police Court this morning, to make Mrs. E. Edwards, of Fourth Avenue, Kingsland, enter into a bond that she would keep the peace towards him. Defendant did not appear, nor was she represented in Court. "Well, what's it all about?" asked the magistrate. Mr. Terry: Parker is ranger for the Mount Albert Borough Council, and ta August last he prosecuted Mrs. Edwards for wandering cattle. After he left the Court he returned to the council yard, and at 12.30 the same day the defendant approached and assaulted him. Counsel added that the Borough Council also wished the lady to be bound over. "What is behind it, then? The woman cannot do your client much harm," said Mr. Hunt. "Well, sir." said Mr. Terry. "She made allegations of dishonesty against Parker, and said that she would wait for him and get him out of his job." Parker gave evidence that Mrs. Edwards rushed at him. screwed his ears, and smacked his face. "She halt got it on me, because I am unable to retaliate." "Have you seen her since?" asked Mr. Hunt. "Xo. T have not," said informant. The magistrate then made an order for defendant to enter into a Tiond of £10 in her own recognisance that she would keep the peace towards Parker.
