A NOVEL EXCUSE.

NON-APPEARANCE IN COURT. "NERVES IN HIS FEET." A novel excuse was advanced by the parent of a youth, who should have appeared at the Police Court this morning to answer a charge of obstructing a fire brigadesman in a public place. "My son has nerves in his feet," said his mother. '"Fancy, but we have all got nerves in our feet," Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., told the woman. "But he's been in bed three weeks, and I have a doctor's certificate," added the youth's mother. "I don't think that's correct. However, I will not oppose an adjournment," said Senior Sergeant Cummings. "Will a fortnight's adjournment do?" asked the magistrate. "Yes, thanks, that will do lovelv."
