QUARRYMAN'S CLAIM.

SETTLEMENT OF ACTION.

On the payment of £300, the compensation claim brought in the Arbitration Court by Terence Corcoran, quarryman (Mr. J. J. Sullivan) against W. H. Alexander, quarry owner (Mr. L. K. Munro) in respect to an injury to his right eye, has been settled. An announcement to this effect was made to the Court this morning, and the case was accordingly struck out. On Friday, May 11 last, plaintiff was spawling stone at Penrose when a chip accidentally flew up into his eye and caused the total loss of its sight.
