ELLEKSLIE TRACK NOTES.
A QUIET MORNING. Fine weather prevailed at Ellerslie this morning for training work. No. 2 grass track was open, and despite the rain overnight, the going was fairly good. No. a Grass. Commendation strode over half a mile in 56 l-ss. Salamander and Optimistic were on terms at the end of six furlong*, run in 1.21. Star Stranger was given an easy task, running half a mile in 56e. Vivo was timed to run horns from the six furlong sprint, in 52b. There was little between Grand Tea and Te Koroke at the end of a four Toxeuma ran the last half mil* of his work in 52 2-5. The three-year-old is in capital condition. Supremacy sprinted home from the three furlong post in 395. He could have done better. Eh Timi was not doing his best to run the last half mile of his work in 54 4-ss. White Wings ran half a mil* easily In 575. Cashier and Metellus ran home from the half mile post in 51s. They both went well and finished together. Freehold Went away slowly from the half-mile post and covered his last three furlongs in 37 2-sa. Laughing Prince jumped off at the six furlong post and ran home in 1.17 2-5. Master Arch and Huirangi Girl were asoeiated over a round, which they completed in 1.55 1-5. Hoariri had plenty of pace on when he went away from the four furlong peg, and came home in 50 2-ss, finishing strongly. Papatu, with a lightweight ia the saddle, ran four furlongs in 53 l-ss. Desert Glow and Winnington were on terms at the end of half a mile ia 5? 2-ss. Potoanui went freely in a half-mile sprint, whidi occupied 53 l-ss. High Pitch, Transformer, Prodice and several others did useful work. The Jumpers. Nucleus (A. McDonald) gave a first* class display over four schooling hurdles, and afterwards did strong work on the sand. She will contest the Manukau Hurdle Race on Monday. LIMERICK REMAINING IN SYDNEY. ' ROSCREA RETURNING HOME. (Received 12 noon.) SYDNEY, this day. Although Roscrea has been booked for return to New Zealand by to-day's boat, Limerick's programme is uncertain. He remains in Sydney for the present in order to test whether the sore on his heel yields to treatment. His owner, Mr. H. A. Knight, is also returning to New Zealand. Racing enthusiasts in Melbourne are greatly disappointed at Limericlriabreakdown, for they had looked forward to seeing the champion in action last year and also this year, but they are consoled by the prospect of seeing the Derby winner Prince Humphrey and Mollison in another duel.
SALE OF A TWO-YEAR-OLD.
(Received 1.80 p.m.) SYDNEY, this fry. Mr. W. G. Stead's two-year-old, Lady Seaborn, by Leighton from Cheloma, which finished sixth in the Gimcrack Stakes on Wednesday, has been sold privately to Mr. C. B. Kellow.
