CHAMPIONSHIP SWIMMING.
LADIES BACKSTROKE EVENT. PHOTOS NOT TROPHIES. —. i (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. At a meeting of the New Zealand Swimming Council, the rules were amended to provide for the addition of a 100 yards ladies' backstroke event to the list of New Zealand championship*. In response to an inquiry from the Wellington centre, it was decided to express the view that photographs did not come within the meaning of the term "trophies."
