DICKENS FELLOWSHIP.
"A TALE OF TWO CITIES." There was a large attendance of members and friends at the fortnijrhtlv meeting of the Auckland branch of the Dickens Fellowship last evening, when Mr. T. Ciar&son nre«ided. The evening was devoted to "A Tale of Two Cities." An excellent synopsis of the book was given • Mr. Clarkson. who had charge of the programme. He was assisted bv members on various topir-s as follows:— Mrs. R. H. Culpan, The Wineshop and The Shoemaker: Mr. W. Lustv. .Terrv Cruncher; Mr J. E. Green. Incidents I*rom the Trial: Dr. Kenneth Gordon Monseigneur; Per. A. T5. Chapnell. Echoing Footetens; Mr. C. Kidson. The Grindstone and The Gnilotine. and Miss Adcock The Encounter Between Madame Defarge and Miss Cross. A character sketoh in costume, introducing Madame Defarge fcrnest Defarge and the spy -was also given* the parts being taken bv Mrs .T D Mr. G. G. Grant, and Mr. C. I. L. Watson respectively. It -was announced that the next meeting would b° the concluding one of the season and would commence -with a tea.
