The Southern Cross airmen arrived from Blenheim at 11.25 this morning, after a flight of two hours. They announced that they had returned to obtain some tubing for the engines; of the l>ig plane. "We are not announcing our future flying plana in the Southern Cross," stated Flight-Lieutenant Ulm. "We may fly anywhere, and we do .not want to he tied down by promises. While lam at the Wigram aerodrome I will have a good look at the dual control Grebe, ■which, is being assembled;/for: instructional flying for pilots. It is one of the latest war-time scouts. 5 ' Subsequently Squadron-Leader Kingslor Smith-took the fast Gloater Grebe machine into the air and, did some thrilling aerial .evolutions over the city •od the aerodrome. Flight-Lieutenailt Ulm fleyr an Avro machine, practising tending.: • ; Shortly after -2 p.m. Kings!ord Smith took off in a Bristol fighter on his return to Blenheim.
