FITTING A NEW SCREW.
REPAIRS TO AXTONIO.
WORK AT THE WHARF. The work of replacing the damaged propeller of the steamer Antonio is expected to commence to-morrow morning. The Warren Engineering Co. have undertaken the task, and hope to complete it about Saturday next. As H.M.s. Dunedin is in the dock, the Antonio will be repaired at her berth at the King's wharf. In order to minimise the handling of the phosphate cargo No. 1 hold has been discharged, and this, as well as the forward ballast tanks, is being flooded. The after ballast tanks have been emptied, and it was hoped to complete discharge of the after holds this afternoon. As soon as the propeller is above water, the work of taking it off the shaft will be commenced- by men working from punts. " The propeller will be lifted clear by the Harbour Board's floating crane, and. the new one lowered to a position whence it can be swung into place by chain tackles.
